A messages from El Presidente John May

HI All

Good news on the Bass front the European Fisheries Committee have confirmed closure of pair trawling from southern Irish Sea through the English Channel to the southern North Sea until [I understand] 1st may but, at this time for 1 year only. As a protection measure for spawning bass.

An increase to 41 cm mls is being discussed [not enough as far as I am concerned]
The 1 bass limit that was muted for recreational anglers is now 3 but IFCA will be charged with taking further management controls within their 6 mile jurisdiction ie estuaries/netting etc
This ,in the main, is a result of angler pressure

Bristol Channel FSA are running a teams of two comp for clubs out of Minehead this year on 3 dates June 14 ; Aug16 ; Sept 20 — first come first served but latest date to book is 9th feb with deposit.
Two charter boats booked at this time ring Alan Shepherd for more info on 07990821454

A request from the Committee

To help make our club raffles more profitable and increase club funds, if anyone has any unwanted new fishing equipment or, bottles of wine, cans of beer or cider etc, that they would like to donate as raffle prizes it would be greatly appreciated. Please bring them along to a meeting and they can be added to the prize tables for our club raffles.

Please could all members who won trophies last year return them as they are needed back for engraving ready for this years presentation.

Dicky Saxby you need not worry about this.
