It would be nice to start a report without grumbling about the weather but as I write this we have just had another comp cancelled due to the NW winds that seem to be ever present in the bay of late with 6 out of 9 comps called off so far!

A few local members have managed to sneak out when the wind drops enough but good forecasts at a weekend are rare.

Still plenty of fish out there with the hounds finally arriving and now we are even allowed to retain a bass if were lucky enough to catch one.

On the 2nd of July we held our summer bbq at the sailing club, lots of laughs, a live band and great food.

It was good to catch up with members old and new, hopefully every one enjoyed it.

We weren’t disappointed with 14 blues upto 110lb and another of 105lb.

With 3 more trips booked for this year hopes are high of setting a new PB.

Andy Georgiou towed his boat down to Weymouth along with Nigel Devey and they managed 7 species on a tough day topped off with a fine undulate of 18lb to Andy.

On the same day we towed our boat down to West Bay spending the morning on the wrecks for just a few pout and cuckoo wrasse but saved the day inshore with some nice plaice, the best going to Craig Willis at around 2lb.

Fish of the month for June was won by Andy Georgiou with a hound of 11lb 4oz and 73% on measure and release.13423707_1693100504273745_3739599319886770307_n
