2 boats reported out over the weekend, Chris Linsey
and Dave Teather on Ultra white and, Dave Harding and crew on Sea Sprite. Both boats found the fishing hard Dave Teather managed a good thornback ray of 11lb 13oz. The boats averaged 2 cod per angler.

The full Saxby crew chartered Enterprise out of Portishead on Saturday and with 7 anglers aboard managed 14 cod and 1 ray. Steve and Fred took all the money with Steve taking the first fish and Fred the biggest and most species.

HAVE THE E.D.F. EXTENDED THEIR EXCLUSION ZONES ?!!

Unconfirmed reports state that a prominent member of our club was surrounded by the Gurkhas armed with gaffs (or was it the local cop car?) , after anchoring up at the side of the A.38 . He was quickly moved on and told to check his instruments. Would any club member be prepared to give him a lesson in the use of a plotter and fish finder. Those members interested should contact our chair.

And to cap it off  on their return to the promised land the beach was sticky too!!
Luckily there was a local photographer on hand to record it.
We’ve all been there!

EDF Update

Thankyou to all who attended the meeting, It was good to see so many faces not only us anglers, charter boat skippers etc.

David Mitchell from the Angling trust has responded since the meeting:

“Congratulations to the club for organising a very successful meeting with EDF on Thursday evening. I hope that many of the concerns with Hinkley C  proposals have been laid to rest but if there is anything further the Angling Trust can raise with EDF on the club’s behalf please let me know.”
